D23 has just wrapped up and from concept art to concrete plans, Disney World will be opening an Encanto-themed Plaza area just past the Thunder Mountain Railroad! The date of opening is May 18, 2023. There will be an opening ceremony 10am and later at 4pm where will be a Colombian Tradition Parade!
All ages are welcome to this special day of introducing the Family Madrigal into the permanent installment. Featured in the plaza will be plenty of food vendors, souvenir shops, a Colombian restaurant, and many places to meet and greet members of the Family Madrigal.
Although the opening event is open to all, we highly suggest that you book your stay at one of the many Disney Resorts and get to the gates as soon as you can as the crowd will grow quickly for that day. Click here to make a resort reservation today!
Can't make it to the opening ceremony? Don't worry! Everyday at 4pm the plaza will flow with the Madrigal Miracle and a Colombian Tradition Parade will make its way through the plaza! Members from The Family Madrigal will also be available for meet and greets from 10am-7pm daily. We hope to see you there!
